UK High Court Upholds Ban On Christian Foster Parents Due To Their Belief Homosexuality Is A Sin

According  to the Christian Post:

The ability of Christians to foster children has been thrown into doubt after the High Court made clear today that it would not intervene if local authorities stop Christians with orthodox views on sexuality from becoming foster parents.

Clarification had been sought from the High Court over whether married Christian couple Eunice and Owen Johns could continue to foster children after Derby City Council blocked their application because the couple had said they would not be willing to promote the practice of homosexuality to young children. READ_ARTICLE

So, a Christian couple can’t raise foster children because they would teach what the Bible says about homosexuality? What is going on here? Every day, it seems, homosexuality is being elevated and celebrated. A few years ago, Pastor John MacArthur preached that God has abandoned America, due to our sins of abortion and homosexuality.

Have you noticed the world wide news lately? Do you see how this…thing…is rising? Maybe you don’t. Maybe you can’t.

And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper… (Romans 1: 28)

I wrote a short fiction piece about the time when homosexuality is state-sanctioned and in the church. The story, frankly, is not that well written. The scary thing, though,  is that it is on the verge of really happening. STORY

  1. Steve,
I appreciate that you took the time to check out the article. It is not bigotry to teach children that something like homosexuality is sin. Heterosexuals who have sex outside of marriage are also sinning. It will not be all that long before such statements are not allowed, so I guess I will get mine in now. I have repented for homosexual sin, and so has my wife, and so have many of us. We want to please God.

I, like yourself no doubt, marvel at the double-mindedness of some Christians who stay silent about the unmarried but living together heterosexual couple in church with them, but are very vocal about homosexuality.

Either way, my friend, I want to please Christ. He is awesome, Steve, and no one comes to the Father but through Him. No one. John 14:6. When we are saved we obey His commands, and if we fall (sin) we repent, and go forward with our walk.

O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary. Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. (Psalm 63: 1-3)

  2. I know it sounds unfair , but it cetainly makes sense that these two couples were denied adoption privileges. Being bigeted should keep these couples from adopting. When I ran an agency we interviewed folks that used the “n” word when discussing Afro-Americans, were members of the KKK & neo-nazi groups. You have to draw a line somewhere!!

  3. While missionaries in the UK my husband and I tried to adopt a baby there. We were welcomed into the classes required to get the process going knowing full well we were American Christians. After completing the long and grueling very humanistic classes, where gay couples and unmarried couples were attempting to adopt as well, we continued to meet favorably with our social worker. Then one day she came over with another woman and they had a very stern and serious look on their faces. They told us it would be a waste of our time (and basically theirs) to attempt to adopt through them because most children who are relinquished up for adoption are from atheist homes and those parents did not want their children going into Christian homes. Also, that we were Americans with a different culture. Our jaws were dropped! They knew we were American Christians before going into this and that my husband was a pastor and they were ok with it, so why drop this bomb on us now after proceeding so far? Something political must had come up within the system and we were stonewalled. We were told to seek out international adoption agencies, something we could never afford. So that door was closed on us and I was heart broken. I know someone evil stepped in and stopped this whole thing although the social workers were strangely silent about giving us a reasonable explanation. So this thread now confirms to me what I had suspected.

  4. Amen, Pearl. What are churches going to do when non-profit status is threatened because a Bilical view on homosexuality is being preached?

    Change what is preached?

    Or remain faithful?

  5. This, together with Mohler’s quote from the last post, is like being on the Titanic just as it struck the iceberg and begins to sink beneath the calm, black waters. How will each of us react when it comes right down to choosing this day whom we will serve? Will we clamour to save ourselves by compromising? It seems so easy to exlaim “no!” but I firmly believe it’s going to come down to Christians losing long-worked for positions; or losing mediocre jobs to just put food on the table; even losing family members due to being ostracized (peer pressure unheard of!). Now is the time to grow in the strength and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. We mustn’t take our eyes off of Him.
