He Didn’t Lift Us Up To Let Us Down (Imperials)

The LORDS lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. (Lamentations 3:22-23)

Did you know about the “Worship Song Ratings” site?

Wow! This is part of the Deception_in_the_Church Website. According to the Worship Song Ratings page:

“This Worship Song Ratings page is here to help churches, pastors and worship leaders in choosing music for their churches.  The ratings on this page are based solely on the lyrics of the songs we have rated, not the music.  Music is a subjective thing for most people and hard to rate for everyone.  But the lyrical content can be rated as to how well it upholds Biblical teachings … or not.”

A letter asking Chris Tomlin not to appear with The Shack author

Chris Tomlin,
I have written this article, The Shack author on Music Boat gig with Chris Tomlin, Newsboys, MercyMe (HERE), and I am asking you on behalf on the Body of Christ to take a stand against appearing with the author of The Shack.
The article includes links to the author’s own denial of the Penal Substitutionary Atonement of Christ. Chris, maybe you don’t know you are booked with him–but can you please do what is right? If you take a stand, perhaps others will gain courage to do the same.
Some years ago the author of The Shack came out with a paper advocating “Christian Universalism,” the anti-biblical belief that all people will end up in heaven whether they accept Christ as Savior or not. You can read all about this in James De Young’s excellent book, Burning Down The Shack. (HERE)
Chris, God’s people need your help.
In Him,
John Lanagan

Marsha West: Sad state of Christian music

“I’m simply pointing out that Christians should pay attention to the words they are singing because a believer’s sole aim is to glorify God,” writes Marsha West.  “Words matter! Even the words you sing must be Christ-centered not man-centered. Songs that contain lyrics taken verbatim from Scripture are most likely Christ-centered.”

Marsha West, long one of my favorite writers, has some thought-provoking comments on the state of the Christian music we hear and play today. By the way, any article by West is probably going to make you think. Or wince. Or reconsider your position.
