Oh well, ho-hum days of the yawning people

He heard the sound of the trumpet but did not take warning; his blood will be on himself. But had he taken warning, he would have delivered his life.

But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet and the people are not warned, and a sword comes and takes a person from them, he is taken away in his own iniquity; but his blood I will require from the watchman’s hand.

Ezekiel 33: 5-6

Let me tell you ’bout my Tribe

I used to tell  my kids to be proud of their Irish blood.  I told them of the warrior-king, Brian Boru, who defeated the Vikings. I told them of the  rich Irish literary history, and I glamorized the Irish weakness for alcohol.

I celebrated the brawls, and the pain, and the falls.

But as it turns out, this isn’t my Tribe.

As it turns out,  my people are all colors, all races, and from all places. My family is Zulu, and Greek, and Ukranian, and American, and includes every single person who knows and serves Jesus the Savior.

We are God’s holy people, and we are everywhere.

Holy is our God.

The Lord has made known His salvation; He has revealed His righteousness in the sight of the nations. (Psalm 98: 2)
