Protestants who don’t unite with Catholics are guilty of “Spiritual Racism”

But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. (2 Peter 2:1)

What are the strands that will be woven together to form the false church?

Tony Palmer states he receives financial support from Kenneth Copeland and claims he has been “consecrated” by Pope Francis to be a bridge for further unity among Protestants and Catholics. You may have seen the message from the Pope that Tony Palmer played at Kenneth Copeland’s convention. It is included in the above video.

According to Palmer, “…the protest of Luther is over. And therefore now we are all living in a post-Protestant era…” ( in video)

The Protestants who disagree are suffering from “spiritual racism.” (8:40)

But…is unity with the Catholic Church even possible?

Palmer says, “It’s the glory that glues us together, not the doctrines. If you accept that Christ is living in me and the presence of God is in me and the presence of God is in you that’s all we need. Because God will sort out all the doctrines when we get upstairs.”

Really? The Lord will sort out all the doctrines in heaven? Christ is very concerned with doctrine (teaching) and deception cannot take place without departure from His doctrine.

Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee. (1 Timothy 4:16)

Palmer, from the Anglican tradition, has served three popes. He uses a 1999 document between Catholics and Lutherans (?) as indication that the Catholic Church now lines up with Protestant (biblical) understanding of justification.

Yet, the Council of Trent’s ruling of hundreds of years ago has never been overturned by the Catholic Church. That historic ruling makes clear the division in belief.

What about the Pope’s “infallibility”?

And what about praying to Mary and the saints?
I am the Lord, that is My name; I will not give My glory to another, Nor My praise to graven images. (Isaiah 42:8)

What about seeking forgiveness of sins through a priest?
For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus… (1 Timothy 5:6)

And what about the Eucharist?

What about purgatory? Where in the Bible is there a temporary version of afterlife suffering?

Pope Francis is clearly a kind man, and a humble man. But that is not the issue. I am grateful for the stand Catholics take on abortion. I am very grateful for my Catholic education and my Catholic friends. But that is not the issue.

Catholicism is not biblical Christianity.

Mike Bickle of International House of Prayer tried to bring the Catholics into his One Thing conference several years ago. Fortunately, this did not happen. Link

There will be other efforts, as we can see by this Kenneth Copeland supported gentleman, Tony Palmer. Are we watching the beginnings of the charismatic movement (Copeland, Bickle etc.) aligning with Catholicism?

Pay particular attention to the last six minutes of this video.

And do not be deceived.

Bonus: Pope offers different versions of salvation?

  1. Missing the point would be to ignore the history. The way the RMC handled the heretic is the true revelation of the Spirit they possessed. Power over is always the work of Satan. Love bathed in freedom is God’s way. Not to say that some Protestant churches didn’t act the same way. By their fruits you shall know them. I agree with the Catholic that authority is everything, but Jesus said that God’s authority doesn’t work the same way as earthly authority. Jesus was a servant God whereas the Pope is always being served. Jesus gave His life for those who hated Him and forgave His enemies. God’s kingdom is established by loving service and not by crusades, torture chambers, and swords.

  2. If Mary were a sinner, cursed by the sin of Adam and laden with personal sin, she could never have survived carrying the Body and Blood of Christ within her for nine months. No one in a state of Original Sin is compatible with having the Body of Christ within, and death and Hell shall devour those who sin against the Body of Christ by taking him into their unclean bodies. Only one who has been justified can have the Body and Blood of Christ within him or her safely.

And this is the verdict, Protestants reject the Immaculate Conception because of their damnable heresy against the Eucharist, denying the plain words of Scripture that the Eucharist is the Body and Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, and if anyone consumes the Eucharist unworthily, the same eats and drinks damnation upon himself. To have “communion” which is not the Body and Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ is to have a form of godliness but deny the power thereof.

  3. Amen, and thank you.

  4. We could serch the history of CC doctrine and the Counsels and have a huge debate, “again,” and we would see that CC teaching in many areas are still out of step with Scripture and esp the Gospel. Let me draw our attention to what Mr Palmer has said, or shall I say, didn’t say about the Gospel. He said that the CC teaches in accord with reformed belief that we are saved by Grace alone and through faith alone, but he leaves out a vital part…namely, by Christ alone. You may say, “well he may not have said that but he certainly inferred it. Well, you would be wrong. The CC still teaches that one experiences salvation only through the CC as one takes part of the sacraments. Such is an addition to the biblical Gospel and therefore false. Don’t be fooled by heart-felt speeches. We are not separated by preference but by doctrine…not by tradition but by Scriptural truth. We, as Protestants, do not need to repent due to our past separation, but the CC needs to repent of her sins and separation from the Word of God.

  5. Yes. Catholicism is apparently going to be a big player in end time religion, and not in a good way. It may be that many other false belief systems come under the umbrella of the Catholic Church.

  6. The protestant ties to the RCC are astounding and include big names like the Graham Family, Rick Warren and Joel Osteen –

  7. Reblogged this on My Word Like Fire and commented:

A reminder. Tony Palmer, now deceased, also received support from James Robison.

  8. There were 5 popes before year 100. Who safeguarded our oral tradition. Read the didache. When Jesus said upon this rock I establish my church it wasn’t plural.

  9. Jennifer,
I have no desire to engage in a shouting match with you. You may have missed this verse:

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

I have done my research, and while there may indeed be Catholics who are saved by the grace of God, no one can come to Christ by following the teachings of the Catholic church.

You might want to go to Mike Gendron’s website, where Mike, an ex-Catholic, works very hard to bring the truth to Catholics.

  10. I am dismayed by the ignorance you and your readers display in what is written. First, Catholics do not worship Mary over Christ, they do not worship Mary at all. Second, the Catholic Church does not teach you are saved by works – those were abuses in the selling of indulgences that Luther spoke out against, rightly, not Church teaching . Officially the CC teaches salvation is by Grace and good works can only be accomplished at all by Grace received through one’s personal faith in and acceptance of the redeeming sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Church teaching confirms the balance of faith evidenced by good works, accomplished only in cooperation with God’s Grace as explained in James 2:26…”faith without works is dead”. If you actually went to the source and read for yourself, you would see for yourself instead of just believing what uninformed people tell you to think about what the Catholic Church teaches. And, even if you did not like Tony Palmer’s interpretation of the official documents in saying “the protest is over”, your own need to be right over truth is evidenced in your lack of acknowledgment for this progress. You would think that since you are protesters, then you would rejoice in the truth once it has been clarified in favor of your own priorities.
And, its really sad some of you believe more lies saying the CC wrote their own Bible version. It was Luther who removed books from the Old Testament, the Septuagint, which was the version exclusively used by Jesus and the 12 apostles , quoted and taught from in public.
It was also the Catholic Church at the ecumenical councils that discerned and complied the biblical canon known today as the New Testament. This New Testament Luther wanted to alter when he favored removing the book of James from the canon and also the Revelation of the Apocalypse. There is not once place in the Bible where is stated a person is “saved by faith alone”. And, the ONLY place in the Bible the two words “faith” and “alone” appear together is in James 2:24 where James states, “… a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone.”
So, if you are publically stating and teaching that a person is saved by faith alone, then you are teaching something that is unbiblical, and you are the one altering scriptural truth to ADD in your own doctrines. Be careful with your judgments and do your research.

  11. Amen, great article. GOD bless

  13. It is really difficult these days, Magda, and it will get much worse. But we must have fellowship with believers–that is what He tells us. So, I hope you are doing that.

…not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near. (Hebrews 10:25)

  14. This is the reason I don’t join a church , I’m a Christian , Believe and love God ,I love Jesus , I’m sorry my sin added more pain on Son of God. I hold on to my fait and will not follow man,
“If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything. “

  15. As a former Catholic, who got saved BY READING THE BIBLE, it is most disturbing to see any so-called minister unify with Catholicism. CATHOLICISM IS NOT CHRISTIAN for it doesn’t have the true plan of salvation, besides being filled with IDOLATRY, etc. See

  16. Hi Catholic reader,
Okay, I have published your link. Let’s see what the readers have to say.

  17. A refutation of Protestantism on the papacy:

  18. I sure don’t hate Catholics. They are great people and great neighbors. We are talking about eternity–and Catholic teaching does not line up with the Bible.

Real hatred would be staying silent about that.

  19. Wasn’t Protestants branched from orthodox Catholics? Why flame throwing hate at Catholics now?

  20. .This. is Rome’s way of trying to regain power and Satan’s last try to water down Christianity. Evangelicals beware of wolves in sheep’s clothing. An apostate church?

  21. I recently read this on a blog written by Ty Gibson of Light Bearers Ministries,

The new Pope, Mr. Jorge Mario Bergoglio, has caused quite a stir recently. So much so, in fact, that an ardent Protestant friend said to me the other day, “Wow, this new pope seems like a really good guy and he’s saying some good things. Maybe he’s on God’s side.”

“Yes,” I responded, “he is saying some rather good things, isn’t he? There is, however, the small matter of believing he occupies the position of God on earth, and the little thing about believing that there is no salvation outside the Catholic Church, and the tiny issue of believing he speaks with infallibility, and the minor point about God burning people forever in hell including all babies who die without Catholic baptism, and the modest idea that you can pay money to the church to get people less time burning in purgatory. Besides those items, yes, he is saying some very nice things.”

You can read the whole article at

  22. Catholics do not understand what is required for salvation, and they are not taught the true gospel. They are a great people, just your everyday folks like you and me, and it really worries me as to the eternal consequences.

  23. Total deception in this kind of unification. We need to unify on truth from the scripture. The Lord Jesus is the Word. It is not trivial!!! Praise be to God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit (Godhead). Thank you for being on the alert for this deception of Satan and his minions.

  24. As a former catholic, I agree with all of the above statements. Tony
Palmer is wrong and deceived: the reformation is not over, it has been ongoing since Luther. all those who would accept these, does not yet understand justification, Mr. Palmer mentioned there used to be, one church now there is 53,000. We now are faced with amore serious
decision, and that is a choice between religion or JESUS CHRIST .will we come out of religion and to our redeemer. Come out from among them.

  25. We have recently moved to a new area and have been checking out churches in the area. I wrote one asking a couple of questions. Before they responded, I watched a sermon online and found they were in unity with the RCC and their invitation was, say this little prayer…. I sent them an email saying they did not need to respond and told them we would not be visiting their church and listed both of these concerns. YIKES, the pastor’ response was brutal. Called me a stiff necked, narrow minded Pharisee and said I would not be welcome in their church and told me do not contact them again. Although I thought I spoke the truth in love, the pastor said I had not!

Have shaken the dust from my shoes and moved on, but wanted to share in light of your article. It is happening everywhere.

  26. well THIS time it will succeed! Because that unholy robed man is the False Prophet and THE antichrist will be exposed soon…get prepared for the persectuion Christians!! stand STRONG for Jesus and do NOT falter!!!

  27. These are false lies. We do not get to Heaven by our works. Luther had it right. The pagans changed the word of God. Omitted the 4th commandment and think they had authority to do this. God never changes anything. His Holy day is Sabbath/Saturday and will always stay the same. To try and trick others into believing otherwise is a lie by the pagan empire. God Bless all and to research the truth. Why do Catholic churches have their own Bibles. Why did they try and burn all the Bibles back in Luther’s day? Why? Because they believe the pope is God on earth given authority to change things. Wake up everyone! Please seek the truth from God and NOT MAN!!

  28. It can be a hard thing Eddie, to tell the truth about something like this. But sometimes we simply have to be blunt.

  29. It has been clear to us since the beginning of this ministry Jesus had us start that the exclusivity of Christ is the cornerstone of Christianity; Anything else is just another version of the same deception that is works righteousness. ALL religions of this world, of which Christianity is not, are false: only Jesus saves.
It’s not hard to detect the lie when you are indwelled by the Truth Himself..
    Patrick Burwell

  30. Catholic Teachings About Mary Nowhere Found in the Scriptures!

There is not one Scripture in the entire Bible that teaches the Immaculate Conception of Mary, i.e., that she was born without a sin-nature. The truth is that Mary was a dirty, rotten sinner just like you, me, or anyone else (Romans 3:23; James 2:10; Isaiah 64:6). The only perfect and sinless human being who ever lived was Jesus Christ, and the Bible makes this very clear (2nd Corinthians 5:21; Hebrews 4:15). Catholics also foolishly believe that Mary lived a sinless life.

Again, this contradicts even the plainest teachings in the Word of God (Romans 3:10). Jesus was born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14), which excluded Him from having the sin-tainted blood of sinful mankind. Mary on the other hand had an earthly father, and was born with a sin-nature just like Adolf Hitler or any other sinner. Even more absurd is the Catholic dogma that Mary was “assumed” into Heaven, and never died an earthly death. This is simply not in agreement with the Word of God, which states…

Hebrews 9:27, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”

Where do Catholics come up with all their heresies? I’ll tell you… straight from the pits of Hell.

  31. “I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.” —Isaiah 42:8

There is NO bigger HOAX on planet earth than the Roman Catholic Church! Oh how I wish I could get people to wake up to the truth. I don’t even call the Roman Catholic organization a “church”…it is a RELIGION of manmade traditions and lies of the devil. It certainly is NOT a Biblical New Testament church. Let me clarify right from the very start that I do NOT hate anyone.

I love the Pope and all Catholics just as I do all people (I really do). I love them with God’s love. I love them enough to risk being unpopular by telling them the truth of God’s Word. Though I may not like someone, I am still commanded in the Bible to love them. I have no intentions to be unkind to anyone, I simply want to preach the TRUTH of God’s Word.

Undoubtedly, many people will be offended because the truth always offends those who are living in sin and darkness. Just as Jesus Christ my Saviour, I am more willing to be divided over truth than to be united by error.

I cannot compromise because the Bible does not compromise. God said what He meant and meant what He said. Many of the foundational doctrines of Roman Catholicism are NOT found anywhere in the Bible. It is evil to reject the plain teachings of Scripture in exchange for the traditions of men.

  32. The Catholic heresy’s are to great to ignore.

  33. Kenneth Copeland EXPOSES HIMSELF as a heretic for receiving and praying for the Pope’s unity request! What a shock that must have been for the many who follow him and think he hears from God. At least one well known person was stumbled by Copeland’s HERETICAL actions. That person was Ulf Ekman. These are very dark days and the people in spiritual leadership are NOT Biblically qualified to be there!

  34. This former Catholic of some 40 years having undergone a “born again” experience realizing that it was by grace alone, throught faith alone and in Christ alone was the sole way to salvation, began to devour the Word of God. In doing so, it became clear to be by examining the scriptures through the help of the Holy Spirit, that the Catholic Church’s doctrines and teachings were antithetical to the Word of God, thereby calling God a liar!!
I can clearly discern that the Pope, purgatory, penance are unbilblical, but the clearest example is the Sacrifice of the Mass.
Christ’s perfect sacrifice was done once for all (Heb. 8:27) so there is no need for a priest to offer up Christ as a bloodless sacrifice in the Mass. Besides “without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin”. After Christ’s perfect sacrifice on Calvary, there is no need od lany more sacrifice by a priest. Matter of fact, God made sure there would be no more as he destroyed the temple where sacrifices were offered and with it the priesthood.
Like Paul who had a heart for the Jews who were still following a Pharisical Religion of do’s and don’ts of law that they may come out of the darkness and into teh light, I too have a heart for Catholics who need to be “born again” and see the light (God’s Word-Sola

  35. Palmer says, “It’s the glory that glues us together, not the doctrines. If you accept that Christ is living in me and the presence of God is in me and the presence of God is in you that’s all we need. Because God will sort out all the doctrines when we get upstairs.” What a load of junk this is!! The ‘glory’ unites us?!?! What? How about the Spirit of God! That’s who unites TRUE believers. They have to say doctrine isn’t important because of the false doctrinal teachings of ALL dead religions. They have to make doctrine irrelevant in order to build Satan’s church. So, we just embrace any Tom, Dick or Harry who comes along and claims Christ is living in them? Aren’t we called to examine their fruit? God will sort out the doctrine? What a false teacher this guy is! No scriptural support, just some guy’s opinion on what he thinks Christ’s church should look like. Honestly, the church he’s striving to build is that of Satan. That church is all inclusive, and it’s huge. Christ’s little remnant follow Him, we hear His voice, we know Him and He knows us. He protects us from garbage like this! We know we are never to unite with any dead religion for ANY reason!
